bought wild and free farms

It’s been a process getting this farm – but you know what they say? Good things come to those who wait!

(You can follow us on Instagram under #farmhunt to see the whole process & a half).

So today, it’s official, we move into the {wild&free farm} (or so we are calling it). Here’s your first glimpse into our newest project.

This baby needs a lot of TLC.  The house is original to 1956 (much like the Hobo-Chic Project), and was moved to it’s current location. It is 902 sq feet currently with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and an unfinished basement. We have big plans for it, and are redesigning it to fit our family. (did you know it would actually qualify as a tiny house with it’s current size?)

Wild and Free Farm

We have 12 glorious acres of land to call our own, one barn, several sheds and a stream.

The garden is a mass of weeds that contains asparagus, apple trees, berries, and lilacs. Once weeded, there’s 36″ x 69″ of growing space which is more than my puny brain can even handle. The summer savory in the garden is as tall as I am. I feel like there is recipes galore or hanging massive amounts of herbs in my future.

The grass is currently 4′ tall in many places (hay maybe?). There is debris everywhere, and branches and trees that need trimmed.

So we’re rolling up our sleeves, and diving into the largest project we’ve ever taken on. We’re urban city kids who don’t know much about country living, so we’ll learn as we go. Ms P is already fascinated with ponies (uh oh), and Mr J is talking about chickens. Both kids and the dog have been having a blast roaming the property.

Where to start? Oh, right, at the beginning, and with clean up.
