Shamrock Dot Art Bingo Daubers

Shamrock Dot Art with FREE Printable

I’ve been looking for no-mess learning activities in the mornings to keep Mr J & Miss M occupied. If not occupied, the two of them can reek havoc on the playroom in a matter of minutes. Felt shapes get dumped, flash card puzzles fly and crayon rocks seem to magically appear under my feet. Even after many routines of using mats, taking one thing out at a time, and reinforcing it, it hasn’t quite stuck yet. I love teaching them things but there’s sometimes where I just need them to play independently!

One of the items that was popular when I used to teach preschool programs was bingo daubers. These inexpensive markers are ink, housed in a large easy to grasp handle. It makes them ideal for toddlers. I’ve found them locally at my dollar store as well as big discount retailer for about $1.

If you’re looking to create a long-term printable to work on your letter “S” consider laminating it, or using a page protector. Since we have ink and reycled paper, thus far I have just printed a few off for my crew to work on. (If you’re looking for more letters, try Confessions of a Homeschooler Mom – she has a tonne!) In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, I whipped up a quick template using a shamrock and the magic of Photoshop.

Miss M’s favourite colour is purple – can you tell? When I let her pick from the colours, she picked it out quickly!

Mr J had fun making a more classic Shamrock with “geeeeeen” as he says.

Give it some time to dry – the bingo daubers can be quite juicy. I liken the final result to tye dye – even when’s bad it’s good.
