I spend a lot of time with my family hitting the trails around our property. These hikes are anything but easy, we adventure in rutted old tractor paths, jump through wild rose thorns, and balance over the fast running creeks. With every hike, we venture a little further into our neighourhood. Our goal is eventually to find our way through the forest and old rutted tractor paths to end up at the local community hall, about 5km away.
This week, I flew over to Vancouver to go on a Mom Adventure of my very own. On these adventures, I challenge myself to discover new places, and take on adventures that are beyond the capacity of my young kids. I kayak, hike, zipline and generally fill up my bucket of wanderlust as much as I can.
Today, I hiked the Sea Wall in Stanley Park. The Sea Wall is 8.8km of paved trail that winds around the entire park, and I wanted to see every part of it that I could. The thing was, I was ill prepared for this adventure. I was wearing flip flops, my water bottle was empty and my body was low on energy.
The time I have to embark on these solo adventures is incredibly precious, and I don’t want to waste a minute doubling-back or searching to find what I need. Instead, I simply need to seize the moment and get on with it. This is why I stash CLIF Bars in my backpack. CLIF Bar is a great-tasting bar made with wholesome, delicious ingredients that deliver energy to keep you on the move and feed your adventure.
These bars have long been a favourite of mine, and have adventured with me (just in case) many times. CLIF Bar is made with nutritious and organic ingredients like organic rolled oats, dried fruits, nuts and seeds in many flavour combinations. Take care of yourself on your next adventure, and stick a CLIF Bar into your go-to backpack or bag. It might just be what saves your precious solo time.
Although this post has been generously sponsored by CLIF Bars and Food Bloggers of Canada, the opinions, language, and total love of CLIF Bars in my backpack are my own.
