No, that’s not a typo.
We are talking about MomCaves – a quiet place where mom can go and relax and unwind after a busy day. That place you go to get back to center and kick back with a few snacks to refresh and recharge. Taking time to rejuvenate is essential. Even more so with the multi-tasking we are all doing on daily basis. MomCaves are also all about you – they delight and inspire us.
So without further ado, we are sharing ours.
Andrea’s MomCave
My cave is pretty typical: It’s my office. Although I usually refer to it as my craft room. Crafting is my zen. I can craft just about anywhere with any medium and I’ll be happy but nothing beats the silence found in your own dedicated space. I only recently moved my craft room into this space as it was formerly the nursery so there still isn’t anything on the walls. This is just another place for me to get my craft on and get decorating!
I love my giant desk. As you can see, it holds a lot of stuff: an iMac perfect for blogging away or searching the latest pins on Pinterest. It also holds my coveted sewing machine and my Cricut Explore Air. There’s always a notebook on-hand as I just can’t escape the joy I get from writing down thoughts as they come. Holly and I have always been big advocates for putting pen to paper.
I also enjoy snacking while I work – I’m constantly eating something. When the salty craving hits, I often sneak away with a bag of Twistos Bites. I recently tried out the new Smoked Gouda Barbecue and they were delicious. When I’m hiding out in my MomCave, I can eat whatever I want without having to share!
Holly’s MomCave
My cave is not the typical room in my house. I find peace and rejuvenate in nature. For me that usually means hitting a trail for a walk or bike with my dog. (He never says no, that blessed adventure dog!)
The plus of this is – my MomCave can be found anywhere there is a little spot of nature. Near my last house, there was a terrific trail for this contemplation that stretched out with a small elevation gain and offered up spectacular views. Depending on the day and how much contemplation is necessary, you could easily walk a quick 2K loop or an even longer 5-8K route if you needed a little more time.
The rushing creek that runs right along the trail offers off several picturesque spots to sit and grab a snack. My most recent snack attack favourite has been Twistos Garden Thins in Sour Cream and Chive. It’s has the perfect crunch to satisfy your sneakiest of craving with a light cheese taste and real chives baked right in.
So now exploring my new backyard, I have already found several great trails and other outdoor spaces that are inspiring in their own right. I can’t wait to share more of them with you and our outgoing outdoor family adventures!
