This past weekend I was invited to attend the Linen Chest grand opening event at one of their six GTA stores. As I am seven months pregnant with my second child (a boy! yay!), I’ve begun the process of nesting so I was more than eager to review Linen Chest! When I nest I like to redecorate not just the baby’s room but the entire house. I was on the hunt for a couple of things and I wasn’t disappointed with what Linen Chest had to offer.
I visited the Heartland Town Centre location in Mississauga. Having never visited a Linen Chest store before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Imagine my delight when I walked into a beautifully organized store of home goods ranging from towels to bedding to kitchenware. I was immediately greeted by not one but two people who offered their assistance. Throughout my half hour in the store I was asked numerous times if I needed help with anything – this is hard to come by in many other home goods stores.
I began with the bathroom section. I was drawn to the wall of towels – it was so colourful! If you are looking for a specific colour, I can almost guarantee that you will find it at Linen Chest. Not to mention the towels really are plush!
After my jaw dropped at the wall of towels, I meandered into the shower curtain section. I couldn’t get over how many they had to choose from! Miss O instantly fell in love with the one with kitties all over it… The picture below is only one section they had of shower curtains.
After the bathroom section was a trip to bedding. One thing I noticed that was quite different about Linen Chest is that they carry a number of quilts as opposed to comforters or duvet covers (although they did also carry those two items). Quilts typically bring to mind “old lady” style but these quilts were fresh and up-to-date. I tried to convince hubby that we needed a new bedspread but sadly he declined as we recently bought a new comforter from a different store. If only I had waited a few more weeks!
I didn’t leave the store empty-handed. We were desperately in need of new bath towels. I’m a classic girl when it comes to towels – white or off-white only for me! I found some gorgeous bamboo bath towels. I picked up two bath sheets & a bath towel for under $100 which I was more than okay with. I’ve been using them for a week now and they are delightful – soft and plush and large enough to cover my giant belly! Next time I’m at Heartland Town Centre I will definitely be sure to make a stop at Linen Chest. Maybe I’ll convince hubby next time about that quilt…
A big congratulations goes out to Doris, our contest winner! She won a $50 gift card to spend at any of the GTA locations of Linen Chest. Her closest store is also Heartland – I know she’ll enjoy it as much as I did. Congrats again Doris!
