List It Prepping for a Sale Clean It Up

Once the ball starts rolling on moving, the next task gets added to the list – sell your house.

Staging for sale requires making your house look perfect. A perfect is worth a thousand words after all. You want to create an environment where that special individual will walk into your house and think “yes! this is perfect”.

Then the reality of living with one hairy black border collie, two tornadoes I like to call children makes perfect seem impossible.
Don’t despair.

I won’t talk about all the purging, packing (If you do want to know more – our friends over at You Pinspire Me have great advice). I want to talk about the other elephant in the room – cleaning.

The reality is clean homes will sell much faster.

Pay careful attention to the entry way of your home (first impressions matter), and kitchens & bathrooms which are what sell homes. Add these essential tasks to your clean home list to get it spic & span for sale:

OxiClean

  • Clean Your Curtains
Dusty curtains are a major turn off, especially if you are including draperies. Wash curtains in warm water with deep cleaning OxiClean Laundry Detergent, and add in a scoop of OxiClean Verstaite Stain Remover Powder for an extra boost to lift stains.
  • Vaccumming the Rugs
Don’t let your carpet or rug show it’s true age. Try Arm & Hammer plus OxiClean Carpet & Room Odour Eliminator Meadow Fresh to remove any unwanted odours (doggy smell anyone?) Scrub Free
  • Shine Up the Bath Tub
Get your bath tub & sinks spic-and-span and help it stay that way before the next showing. Remove unwanted build up in your sink or tub with Scrub Free Bleach Mildew Remover to get the job done.
  • Freshen Up Your Fridge
Pull out all your racks and bins and wash them in the sink with a mild liquid dish soap and hot water. Add in a box of Arm & Hammer Fridge Fresh to help absorb any lingering odours.
