What do you do with a baby who hates to be swaddled? I asked myself that question when Miss O was born. She liked to sleep with her hands above her head. PJ’s just didn’t seem warm enough on their own and I really wasn’t any good at swaddling only her torso & legs with a blanket. Enter the sleepsack. These nifty inventions are perfect for little babies, older babies and toddlers.
When Little J came into this world a few short months ago, he was just like his sister: he hated having his arms pinned down. But all of my sleepsacks from Miss O were pink! (I know he doesn’t care but I really wanted some just for him). Also, Miss O graduated to a big girl bed. This meant no more sleepsacks for her as it’s hard to walk around with your feet inside a bag! Lucky for me, Halo swooped in and saved the day. They offered to send me two of their micro-fleece SleepSacks; a small one in green for Little J and a special pink one for Miss O from their Big Kids line.
Halo Micro-Fleece SleepSacks are a wonderful thing. Quite often this type of material can cause a world full of static electricity zaps but Halo somehow eliminated this horrible feature which is amazing. It’s also the perfect fabric for kids who fill their diapers at night, often to the point of leaks. Unlike cotton, it somehow absorbs the liquid but doesn’t remain wet which is great on cold winter nights. Halo SleepSacks are very easy to get kids in and out of. The zipper runs almost the full length which makes getting Little J, the wiggly 3-month old into it much easier as it opens very wide. The zippers rarely get caught and they zip from top to bottom which eliminates any chances of them getting their neck caught in it. These features are included in all of their SleepSacks from babies to big kids.
Miss O was ecstatic when I showed her the fancy new SleepSack. She loves her Dora bedding but missed the comfort of a SleepSack – something she has been wearing for all of her 2.5 years. Some kids have a security blanket; Miss O has a wearable security blanket! Halo were really thinking when they designed their Big Kids line, that’s for sure. The sizing is very generous – she is 90th percentile for height at 2.5 years. She is wearing the 2T-3T size and you can see she has plenty of room to grow!
