I’ve gone through a lot of diapers in the last four years. Each changing of the diaper size seems to be moving with your child to a new phase of development.
With Miss P right now, we are in the mile a minute stage. She’s trying to keep up with her older brother, and moving, moving, and moving all the time. Her diaper has to be able to keep up with the many movement changes every day. Sometimes its crawling, walking, climbing, running… well, you get the picture. She’s an active little mover and shaker (she’d tell you shake your booty!). It has to be flexible enough to keep up and keep everything inside that need to be. Add in a child who is learn to potty train and you need the diapers to be bulletproof. After all, this mom has no time for extra laundry!
Even trying to take a picture of her still is a challenge.
As we count down the days to her 2nd birthday, I can’t believe we’ve grown through 4 different diaper sizes. From the start, she was such an easygoing little person. She just rolls with it most of the time -until she takes offense – then watch out!
Although we have couponed and shopped the sales for diapers for a long time, after adding a second diaper bum to our mix, we started to buy our diapers exclusively from Costco. The Huggies® diapers they supply have not let us down. We love the large case sizes, that last us for a month or two before we have to get another box. For outdoor adventures, these diapers pack a punch for absorbency – we don’t always change as much as we should on the trail.
Costco has just introduced their new Huggies® Little Movers Plus and Little Snugglers Plus to the line-up. These diapers are the most absorbent yet (other than the nighttime Huggies®). The Huggies® Little Movers Plus have a GentleAbsorb® Liner that adds an extra layer of protection and Double Grip Strips that keep the diaper on the wigglest of wiggle worms. Available in sizes 1-6 at your local warehouse right now!
With my brother just wading into the diaper purchasing world himself, I was explaining to him this week how to spot a good deal on diapers. The diapers that are “on sale” can be really misleading if you’re not sure what the unit cost per diaper is.
Here’s my rule of thumb when it comes to diaper unit cost….
