TheInspiredHome.org // Thanksgiving Sides To Make This year

The highlight of any Thanksgiving dinner is the turkey. But that bird needs some accompaniment and this roundup features a delicious selection of sides to choose from. Knock it out of the park this year with a spin on some old classics or bring out a new family favourite! Is it wrong that I want to find room on the table for each and every one of these side dishes??

Stuffing

Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without stuffing. It is arguably the most important side dish to accompany the turkey. Some people prefer to put the stuffing directly into the bird but this isn’t my family’s preferred method. Regardless of how you like it, you can’t miss if you shoot for of these stuffing recipes.

Featuring all the important ingredients, this Cranberry Apple Walnut Stuffing from Cincy Shopper is high on my list.

The Best Stuffing – the name says it all!

Cornbread Stuffing is always a classic, especially from My Turn For Us.

Potatoes

After the stuffing definitely comes the mashed potatoes. Whether you like them starchy or sweet, you’re going to find a potato recipe here to satisfy everyone.

These Mashed Potatoes with Wilted Spinach look fantastic. I might be licking my screen right now. Thanks Who Needs a Cape?!

One Creative Mommy’s Sweet Potato Casserole with Apples is guaranteed to be a hit with everyone, even the kids.

I love any excuse to include cheese in all of my side dishes so these Chunky Parmesan Smashed Potatoes from Ann’s Entitled Life definitely fit the bill.

Butter Pecan Mashed Sweet Potatoes – it’s like a side and a dessert all rolled into one! And only 5 Weight Watchers points.

You can thank Thrifty Jinxy for saving you some time and effort with these Slow Cooker Garlic Herb Mashed Potatoes.

Vegetables

The meat and potatoes may take the spotlight at Thanksgiving dinner but these veggies will shine a new light on some old favourites.

Honey Glazed Garrots are hands down one of my favourites.

This Cauliflower Broccoli Casserole with Ham from Leelalicious contains all of my favourite things!

One Creative Mommy has created these wonderful Gluten Free Creamed Onions.

Nothing says autumn like this Butternut Squash Gratin from The Kitchen is My Playground.

Slow Cooker Creamed Corn – now you’re talking my language!

This Vegan Creamy Corn Gratin {Gluten Free} from Avocado Pesto will make even the pickiest eater on your list happy.

This Maple & Cream Baked Acorn Squash from Making of a Mom looks divine.

Green Beans with Bacon and Onions are a definite must-have at Thanksgiving dinner.

Fruits & Sweet Sides

Put a spin on a classic with this Orange Cider Cranberry Sauce from Snappy Gourmet.

Cranberry Fluff Salad is another delicious way to put a spin on a classic.

Cardamom Apple Pearsauce sounds so incredibly delicious. I wish I had some right now! This would be great with some pork which is also popular at my family’s Thanksgiving dinners.
