What We’re Watching: Stuck on TRUX

Call a TV truce with DinoTrux

At the end of a long day at the farm, we enjoy a little TV as much as the next family. But if there’s one thing that drives me batty it’s hearing the kids go back and forth and back and forth about what to watch. There’s a constant battle that takes place on whose turn it is to pick. This also leads us to watch a lot more shows because it can’t possibly be uneven.

When the shiny new season of DinoTrux popped up on my Netflix list, I breathed a sigh of relief. DinoTrux is the one show that I can count on both kids wanting to watch. Our friends from Netflix, even sent us DinoTrux swag – at first, they sent us one DinoTrux hat. I can’t even tell you what a fight that one started. Thankfully, they found one more to send over and I am beyond grateful.

If your kids haven’t tuned into this one yet, they’re missing out. First of all, it’s a cast of characters that are half dinosaur and half truck, so what’s not to love? Both my kids enjoy their adventures.

As a farm family, building is a big part of our day-to-day and the DinoTrux crew are always creating something new. Ty, Tonne, Skya and Dozer work together to solve problems in the same way I try to get my kids to tackle jobs – by working together.

It’s definitely not all rough and tumble. Friendship and cooperation play a big role in every story. Each character has his or her own quirks but they still manage to all get along. It’s a great lesson in diversity.

It’s one of those kids shows you can actually sit down and watch and enjoy.  Try it out & let us know if you are converted to a TruxFan too!
