So here’s the thing, I’m pretty amped up for the ROAM event happening next week. Tickets are now SOLD OUT!
Getting Ready To Go
How I get ready though, well, it’s just a pile of dirt. I’ve been out with my family shoveling and shoveling to try and get the rows in the garden done before I leave for a couple of days. I know production will slow without my able (yet aching) body in the mix. I’ll spare you all the details – have a follow over at Instagram if you want more.
The short details are on Tuesday night I’ll do my laundry then throw everything into a wild mess of a suitcase to sort out on Wednesday night when I get to Vancouver. Is it organized? Not really, I usually show up on every trip a wild mess and I make it work out. I have great friends at the other end who take care of this messy mom. Plus, you can almost always buy what you need. Don’t sweat it, just get your body where it needs to be (the airport on time.) The rest can be sorted out later.
Mom Adventures in Vancouver
Every year, I try to schedule at least one mom adventure into my year. I love my kids dearly, however kid speed doesn’t always soothe my adventurous soul. Instead, I take on an adventure that is worthy in my mind. Thankfully, I have a community of like-minded friends who egg on my adventurous spirit and are eager to come with me. These are the truly best soul sisters that I have, and the ones that mend this weary mom with these trips.
Here’s a few of our past exploits:
Lunch on the top of a mountain? no problem.
Canoeing down a too-shallow creek, why not?
Geocaching in a canoe with a toddle & dog – okay!
Why Miss M never says no to an adventure
I couldn’t be more excited to get back to Vancouver. One of my partners in adventurous crime, The Thirsty Tourist, lives just outside of Vancouver. Last year, I crashed at her place and we took to the sea & swinging bridge while I was town. This is not new – we usually get together wherever either one of us is living once a year and take on those adventures that our husbands won’t.
Last year, we took to the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge and tackled sea kayaking in Port Moody.
Here’s a couple clips from my GoPro of the action:
As you can imagine, this year’s Vancouver trip, we are planning for it to be BIGGER, BETTER and BADDER. After a few days of filling up my brain with ROAM, we are hitting it hard for two days to fill up my cup. But I can’t waste these precious days! So I want to know…..
What places do you recommend we check out? Is there anywhere you’d give a miss to?
