TheInspiredHome.org // Robot Birthday Party Ideas: Fruit & Vegetable Trays - A great theme for a 1st birthday party!

We recently celebrated Little J’s 1st birthday. I can’t believe he’s 1 already! As you may have noticed through various posts on this site, I’m a big fan of throwing parties. Miss O had a pink party for her 1st birthday, her 3rd was a Princess Peach theme. For Little J I opted to go with a robot theme. This was an easy one to work with as that’s how I decorated his nursery!

I will be sharing a few different ideas with you this week on how to throw your very own robot-themed birthday party! It is actually one of the easier parties I have thrown. The reason being that I had most of the decorations I required already in his bedroom so I simply set them up around my living room. I used a variety of robot stuffies along with some of the artwork from his room. The other reason it was so simple was because most of the items I needed to purchase came from the dollar store! The perfect example of this is the robot fruit & veggie trays I made. You can also learn more about when to save and when to splurge for your child’s first birthday party.

All you need to make these is a variety of foil trays. There was a rectangular pan for the body, loaf pans for the arms & legs, a square pan for the head and some small round ones to hold dip.

You’ll need a large variety of fruits & veg to fill these; however, most of the pans are quite shallow so you don’t need a lot of each. Don’t forget to make some robot faces using smaller fruit & veg!

Vegetable Tray

  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Cucumber
  • Tomatoes – these were to make the face!

Fruit Tray

  • Watermelon
  • Pineapple
  • Strawberries
  • Grapes
  • Apple slices
  • Raspberries
  • Blueberries to make the face

For the dips, I used a selection of Litehouse Foods Opadipity Dips. For the vegetable trays I used two of their savoury dips: Creamy Ranch & Cucumber Dill. For the fruit trays I used two of their sweet dips: Creamy Cheesecake and Strawberry Delight.

    Hi Andrea!
I love this! My son is having a Transformers party next Saturday. I have one question…what are the yellow round things in the middle of the veggie dips?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Half a yellow tomato. You could also use a bell pepper
